The sound produced by the "suikinkutsu"
is a very mystical sound, and in the Japanese language is called
"suikinon".
During the Edo period, a famed tea ceremony teacher called Enshuu
Kobori used to have a "suikinkutsu" in the garden where
he taught his students and because of this the sound of the suikinkutsu
has become regarded as the sound of Japan . |
